Beautiful view! Bet the wind can get a little tricky coming off the water. My typical view is of hay fields and cow pastures.

view?

We shoot rats and hogs every saturday night at the city dump.
You gotta use night vision but it sure is fun.
Not much of a view but it changes every week.
It can smell a little bad in the summer too.

bcarver...you crack me up! That DOES sound like fun.

Remember the show "Wings"? The comedy show based at the airport on Nantucket Island? The two pilots come into the hangar with three very good looking women and invite the redneck mechanic to go on a date with them. He says, "I can't". The pilots ask him why and he replies, "Me and the boys are having a rat shoot at the dump tonight." LOL!

Mine isnt maybe that nice but its pretty spectacular this time of year ill try to get a shot of it tomorrow and put it up here.

SLO- I haven't shot em along the coast up by you but I have shot tons of ground squirrels further inland off of HWY 58. Great shooting. I use a Browning Model 1885 in .22-250. I also hunt pigs up in Paso Robles/King City area. Great country.

BTW- You have one of the great rifle ranges up there off 101. Firing lanes out to 700 Yards. It was the place where I first saw a K-31 being used. A guy was hitting a 4' square target using open sights at 700 yards. I bought one a couple of weeks later...FWB

SLO-
Mendocino? Bodega Bay? I used to hunt squirrels from King City to Alturas during the 70s and 80s. Nothing like it anywhere else in the country!

FWB and Scorch...private property on the Central CA Coast.

I also do a lot of shooting off of Hwy. 58. Some of the best bird hunting out there too.

Ft Hunter Leggitt

It's not anywhere near as beautiful as that, but I like to get out and shoot the Ground Squirrels at Hunter-Leggitt. I think it's a pretty nice setting, but now I have to reconsider.
A few years back when I lived in Nor Cal, I had access to a ranch just south of Half Moon Bay that looked a lot like that. They didn't have varmints, but the quail hunting was nice.
If you ever need a spotter, drop a line...

SLO- Yeah- I have shot a few quail off Hwy 58, also. One time, I even found some Chukars. How's the Carrizo Plain doing now that they have limited hunts?
