Are you strong enough to carry it? Are you comfortable with it all day? If so what difference does it make what they think?

I carry my 110 fp witha Choate U/S stock in the feild. The total is over 16#. I dont walk as far as I used to but it slows me down is not all that bad when still hunting.

Only your opinion counts.

My pet '06 weighs 9-3/4 pounds with scope, sling and ammo. I've walked many a mile with it, in some of the roughest terrain imaginable. At six feet and 175 pounds, I never figured I wuz any King Kong...

Gotta admit that I like my 700 Titanium in 7mm08 a bunch, for future long walking hunts. But I'm 67 years young...

If the 10FP is too heavy, it's a SIMPLE matter to swap barrels to one that is a lighter contour.

Personally, I don't mind a heavy contour.

What's comfortable for you. When you workin at 5,000' higher than you used to, clumbed some hills n rocks, bout to collapse from altitude sickness and exhaustion.......and there is that trophy head grazin peacefully......you find what rest you can get, put the cross hairs on him......and watch your heartbeat bounce your point of aim all over. Right then, an extra few pounds of rifle might help you make a shot that you couldn't pull off with a lightweight sporter.

Makes you tired to carry it but makes you a better shooter when you are tired. Kinda conundrumish.

Weight doesn't really bother me. I live at 5200 and hunt elk at 10/
11000 ft. I just pace myself and have no problems and I'm a 59 year old geezer.LOL
