Your ideal zombie caliber (JUST FOR FUN)

I was thinking the other day as I was doing some research as to which .22lr pistol I want to get to get some cheap and effective trigger training on. If zombies started walking the earth, which caliber would be best?

I know there are a lot of people out there who still say the bigger the better. But think about it, you need to shoot a zombie in the head, penetrate the skull and hit the brain, right? I would want something with very little recoil, very accurate, and easy to find ammo that is cheap.

So I think I would go with a round nosed copper plated hyper-velocity .22lr.

Remember folks, this is just for fun. Let's be nice and just have a laugh ;-)

As much as I love zombie topics, and I DO LOVE Zombie topics, we don't talk zombies around here. (Other than the annual Halloween Zombie section that rises from the dead every October.) Keep this topic in mind and we can talk about it next Halloween!

From TFL rule 5 (stuff we don't talk about): "The End Of The World As We Know It (TEOTWAWKI), AKA: SHTF or Doomsday threads and Zombie threads"

As rivero notes, we have an annual zombie fest around Halloween.

So, in 10 months, this subject can rise from the dead like a zombie in our zombie forum.

For now? Closed.

Which is ideal against human attack or hypothetical

Two loads: 230 gr. 45 acp or 10mm 155 gr. with nearly the same recoil:

Hornady 155 XTP 10mm or Winchester Ranger T 230 45.
Same platform Glock 29 SF or 30 SF, keeping this simple.

Hornady 155 XTP @ 1,278 fps / 562# KE / PF 198 (.88 momentum)
Ranger T 230 @ 874 fps / 390# KE / PF 201 (.89 momentum)

Yes, both would work just great for SD, but...

Which load has the greatest incapacitation potential against a violent or zombie :p attacker, assuming equal shot placement?
