Your favorite conservative news source?

Liberals don't have a tough time finding news sources that pander to them; most any newspaper off the rack will suffice. I'd like to know where to find information without the liberal bent to it.
Name your favorite conservative publication. Thank you.

If it has the word "conservative" attached to it, how is it "news"?

If you don't care for liberal biased news, wouldn't you want to find unbiased news? Or is some other bias make the news more factual?

Sounds like just asking to be told more palatable lies.

Actually, we have it pretty good here in Marietta. Ok, so the AJC is leftist drivel, that is true. But, the Marietta Daily Journal isn't, so at least we have a good daily paper here.

Otherwise, I troll the 'net.

Seriously man, if you don't like the content of a thread; if you don't like the way a thread is worded, then please just mutter to yourself that I'm a moron and walk away. You appear to have a wealth of knowledge on guns, which is commendable and makes your opinions on that topic desirable. But let me say that your posts consistently show a grumpiness, a holier-than-thou-ness and a lack of politeness that makes discussing anything with you, guns included, extremely unpleasant. Give the hubris a rest, Handy, please.
I've seen many threads on this and other websites with which I disagree. I don't find it necessary to vomit my opinions on each and every one. In your posts, you have preached tolerance on (lately) Affirmative Action and Illegal Immigration. Where is this attitude of tolerance when it comes to trivial matters like my asking about conservative publications? What business is it of yours if I DO want to read news with a conservative lean to it?
I imagine you to be a very lonely, boring person, Handy. I feel bad for saying that, actually, because I feel sorry for you. I don't enjoy pointless confrontation like this, but please, if you have something on-topic to contribute to a thread, fine, but if it just doesn't suit your taste or isn't worded to your satisfaction, why even post, man? Couldn't your time be better spent elsewhere? Like I said, if you think I'm an idiot who doesn't know his bum from a hole in the ground, then just pity me and let me be.

If Handy can restrain himself from going into combat-mode here, maybe we can get this thread back on track? Hate to see it closed because of this.

One of my patients says that she subscribes to a publication called Middle American News. Does anyone here subscribe to it? What's the content focus? How much is a subscription? Thanks.

I say that Fox even is too liberal.

I don;t care too much about events. If it is big enough to make me care, it will be all over all the news stations anyways.

1BADF350,

I gotta ask....in your signature line, who is Sean Hannity's runningmate? Is it Darryl Worley the country singer? Splain it to me, splain it to me!! :D

TJ, you hit the nail on the head. Darryl Worley. Truly a great guy. I've met hima a few times and I din't think there's a nicer human being on the planet. His music is awsome. He is a staunch supporter of our troops overseas and visits them often. The last show I went to he had gotten word that a few audience members had just returned home. He called them by name and had them stand up so the whole audience could applaud and cheer. Very good guy.www.darrylworley.com

National Review.

Washington Times is the best conservative paper owned by the cultists called the Moonies.

Any newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch; like the N.Y. Post.

I think that the Christian Science Monitor is a conservative paper, but of the few stories I've read of theirs, I agreed with. So maybe they are not as seriously conservative.

"What websites in particular do you visit?"

For the actual national news, I go to CNN with my Leftist BS detectors running full-blast, and cross check that with Fox News. It seems that CNN has more content but is slanted, Fox is more even-handed but tends to have less content. I also periodically check out Drudge, but am fully aware that he can be premature about posting things, so I take what he says with a grain of salt until proofed out by other sources. I get my hometown (I'm actually from Houston, uprooted to Ga) news online at the Houston Chronicle, which is somewhat negatively biased (not nearly as bad as the AJC), but on the other hand has a very good crew of outdoors columnists who do a credible job of covering both fishing and hunting. I'll also pay a visit to NRO and TownHall for conservative oriented commentary. I regularly stop by at InstaPundit for a quick rundown on what's happening out there in the Blog world. For up-to-date weather, I go straight to the local Weather Channel page for Marietta, Ga.

Those are the main ones. I find that keeping track of what is happening at Instapundit, thereby participating in the Instalanches, leads me to all sorts of places out there on the web.

TJ,

Whether you like my opinion or not, I don't see why pointing out that you would probably be best served by unbiased reporting is hubris. Some would even call that sensible. "News" is supposed to be the reporting of current FACTS, not a pre-digested slant on the world. Something along the lines of the Christian Science Monitor.

But as I never defended illegal immigration, I wouldn't expect you to give the rest of my posts any thought. I don't know what you're reading.

All "news" is slanted or biased for the simple reason human beings are slanted and biased in their outlook. I therefore conclude all "news" sources misrepresent their coverage. Nothing sinister, just human nature.

The task before me as a consumer of "news" is to figure out what is distorted. Since I am not all knowing I have to look at the "news" from all stripes of reportage. FOX, NYT, LA times, Boston Globe, Newsmax, South China Daily, Reuters, AP, Yahoo, ad nauseum all qualify. I also take "news" from opinion pieces since a large portion of what will effect me never makes it into straightup "news" coverage. I am so cynical that a particular media outlet has to prove to me it is NOT lying.

The wires. You can read many stories that are not carefully selected and covered in mainstream propaganda for mass consumption. Many foreign news services often cover stories not carried here - or have differing or additional information on the same subject matter.

Shortwave radio is a good source of foreign news - and propaganda - if you want to take the trouble to set up, find the stations and tune in at the right times. Most countries have an hour or two of English including news topics.
