Your choice of .32 ACP defense loads?

I just purchased a little Beretta Tomcat, and I was wondering what ammo you prefer for that last ditch moment?

I know you'd prefer a .45 or something that packs a whallop, but if all you had was poodle shooter, what would you load it up with?

Hello. My wife's Walther is loaded with factory Hornady 60 gr XTPs. The reason is that they are quite reliable in her gun and in that light of bullet weight, I prefer Hornady's limited expansion such that penetration, already a concern in this light bullet, doesn't suffer too much. Best.

I got a Tomcat too.
After some 500+ rounds the Fiocchi 73 grn FMJ are my pick. Followed by any other Hardball, Then Winchester Silvertips, Then Any other HP types.

Reason; I'm a member of the "Penatration over Expansion" Crowd. And the FMJ's give the 12" of prenetration that I want in a round. I've also have experianced feed jams in every HP round type I've fired except for the Winchester Silvertips. Especially in Fiocchi's HP round.

Just my $1/50

My Guardian is a little ammo sensitive, however Silvertips and Fiocchi FMJ both are perfectly reliable. I usually keep it loaded with the Fiocchi. (Silvertips are a little "dirty") I just bought a box of Fiocchi hollow points to try. They seem to chamber slickly, so I don't expect any problems. I really didn't expect the most inexpensive ammunition to function the best, but the Fiocchi is great stuff.
My P-32 has never been ammo sensitive and has never had a malfunction of any type. :) I usually keep it loaded with Hydra-Shoks, but I'm thinking about replacing them with Fiocchi also.

Mendacity is the system we live in.

I usually carry Fiocchi FMJ in my Guardian. I carry FMJ because it has greater penetration than JHP. In a round like the 32acp, I think penetration is VERY important.

Fiocchi makes the fastest newly made FMJ ammo available.

fiochi soft tip hollow points.
i have a cz-70, and i am just amazingly accurate with it, can put holes in one pound coffee cans at 10 yards just point and shoot, so if i can put on in the head i dont need soemthing that will look like a quarter when it comes out.
this fiochi is nice tho, accurate, expands well. and like all 32 its LOUD enough to take the ear drums off of said BG in my house.

Fiocchi FMJ. IMO, penetration is more important than expansion with this diminutive round.

Frank
