(I don't know if this is in the right forum)
I have a question. I know that even if you're in the military and qualify on M-16's and M-9's while on duty, you can't buy or carry a handgun while off duty until you reach the age of 21.
Is it the same for young LEO's? Lets say that you graduate HS and then get a two year degree. You get into academy and graduate at the age of 19 (could happen, I graduated HS at 17 and had 1 year of college under my belt due to I was taking "college prep" classes and in Florida that qualified for one year of college credit). You get a position and get issued a firearm. But, you're not 21. Can you carry that gun while off duty? Can you maintain it at home?
Just curious.

*PS, please, don't let this turn into a LEO bashing thread. The top brass in most departments may not like us "civilians" having guns but most rank and file LEO's are all for us having and carrying guns. Thank you.
