You’ll have to forgive me,, I’m a little emotional right now,,, gun show find.

Went to a gun show this morning looking for a Kris 45ACP and having none there I walked along until I found a series of tables with a good number of N frame S&W. Most of them OLD.
There was only one person there playing with his I pod, he looked bored.
“Any 44 specials here?” I asked.
He looked up at me and the look of “why is this bum talking my time” and he said.
“None of those guns are under $1000.”
“Ok, I’m going to ask you one more time, are any of those 44 specials?”
And he points to the gun in the photo.
He wanted 1400 and I gave him 1300. There is a little bluing wear above the trigger on the right hand side. The barrel and cylinder are perfect. NO cutting of the top strap and slight bluing wear on the end of the barrel.
The grips are perfect and this is the only N frame I have ever pulled the trigger on that is better than my 25 built in the 70’s.
This is a gun I have been looking for,,,,, for over 25 years.
I have to stop typing right now, the emotion is taking over,,,,,,, sob!
SN: 1400XX with an “S” in front of the sn. Built in late 1955 early 56.

The pain was worth it, yes?
Well yes, when I started pulling out the 100 dollar bills his attitude changed.
As I said I was looking for a Kriss, and had over 3K in my wallet.
Ok one point in his favor. I had been up all night helping my brother with his 67 Chevell for a big car show Sunday, just got the interior in. No bath and covered in crud. I looked like a homeless bum.

Good for you! Glad you found it. Now I wish I could find it's brother.

As far as rude vendors at gun shows it is unfortunately now days the norm. If you want to really hear rude try talking to any of the guys in the Confederate Air Force at an air show. They act as if people shouldn't even be allowed to see their planes much less talk to them about them.

But I digress, that is a really nice specimen you have there. Let us know how it shoots.

He sounds typical of guys with collectibles.
The poor guy probably had it with folks saying they could buy something new for a third of that price.
He may have tired of explaining to the first dozen or so and then gave up.
He figured a nasty attitude would separate the men from the boys real quick.

+1 Nice find--congrats

"Great old Smith! It's a shame you had to deal with somebody so rude though."

Isn't that the way of a lot of these shows? Seems like somehow they feel their very presence, excuse me - their eminence, is doing you a favor and is sufficient information by itself for you to go on!

That's a nice one alright.
I like going to shows looking like a bum. Sometimes it helps me get a lower price but mainly I like the look I get when I find something I want and start pulling the bucks out to pay for it.:D

Isn't that the way of a lot of these shows?
Yep, seems that way. Which is sad because most of them are so over-priced, I don't know how they manage to sell anything in the first place. Wouldn't think they could afford to alienate buyers so flippantly. Fact is, you never know if the guy standing there in front of you asking what you perceive to be a dumb question has a wad of cash in his pocket with your name on it. All you need to do is be courteous. Which you should be anyway. Even if I were wealthy enough to light my cigars with hundred dollar bills, I'd never walk into a gun show looking like it. Folks shouldn't make assumptions.

Well first of all, what a great revolver. I have fallen victim to the same way that people judge most often. People just don't know that you should never judge a cover by its book! ;)

Anyways, I also have a problem with your post, Ozzieman,,,,
No one can use that many commas, except aarondhgraham,,,,
Commas for the rest of us are used after phrases, (like that),,,,
but not in place of periods,,,,
if you want to use commas like aarond,,,IMO you should ask for his permission,,,,
I am surprised that aarond has not replied yet,,,,
Seems like a gun he would like actually,,,,

So please,,,,,watch the commas,,,,,,!

I originally thought, by the commas in the title, that it was aarond, but it was an imposter!
