When the "no off-topic discussions" decision was made, I decided that that just wasn't acceptable -- I wanted to hear about FUD's adventures!

So, I contacted Rich Lucibella and the rest of the moderators, floated the proposal for an "off topic" site linked to TFL, and they decided they liked the idea.

So come on over to The Range House, and get to know your fellow TFL members outside of our firearms & political views!

Thanks, Mike. I'll have to check it out when I get a chance and give you my comments -- I am presently experiencing the "Blue Screen of Death" and going through major trauma (anyone who has run Windows NT and experience a corrupted boot sector with no way to access the data on that drive, knows what I am going through -- try explaining to your boss that you have nothing to show for your efforts for the past half year!). Again Mike, thank you for your efforts. I will stop by to pay a visit after I stop pulling out my hair (what's little left of it). FUD.
 
The curropted boot sector is a realatively easy fix. Find somebody elses computer and make a boot disk (with the Boot.ini, and 4 or five othe important files, and it has to be NT4) and put it in your computer when you start it. This may not completely let you boot (depending on their settings) but it should get you to the screen so you cen select your last known good config. You might have a boot disk layin' around. Have you already tried that? hmmmm. If you haven't completely lost your drive, you'll be able to get your data back from the past 6 months, especially if you can use the last know good config. (assuming you haven't already gotten a partial boot, in which case :eek:
