YHM Diamond Handguard Question

I've been contemplating a new handguard for my AR for a while now and had kinda settled on a Magpul Moe but I've kinda been window shopping and saw this thing. I looked up some videos on youtube but none really answered my question.

I'm just wondering if I have to buy a smaller gas block to go with it or if I can still use the standard front sight/gasblock with it.

I have a full length rifle if it makes any difference.

It doesn't matter, if you can't use the same front sight/gas block you can just take a hacksaw to the front sight portion and cut it down.

I have the diamond series on my rifle. Mine is also a full size 20 incher. The forearm is heavy but built tough i mounted a insight technologies light and a vertical grip and it works out great. Now Daniel Defenses offerings in my opinion are nicer nowhere near as fat as the YHM but they are also double the price. For the money that forearm is a great option.

The Magpul MOE will be much much much lighter as well as cheaper. A lot of people like them and they look good as well. Depends on what you like, a rail or a handguard that you can attach short rails to when you need to.

This is what I went with, not sure I would do it again since most of the quad rail is un-used and just adds weight.

I tried two rifles with the Troy TRX battle rails last month, extreemly light, excelent looking and really good rail system. Pricey, but worth what they cost.

visciouskitty, did you have to change out your gas block? I was looking at two piece drop-in forearms because I still want my front sight/gas block.

Cheaper than dirt has the YHM for $120 so I thought it would be a good alternative if I could fit my gas block back on. I'm not totally against hacksawing my front sight, but buying a front BUIS would kind of make the savings moot.

Can I fit my gas block back on with the Troy rail? I like it, but if I have to cut up my gas block for either one I'll just go with the cheaper one.

The YHM is a very good hand guard and I love mine. You will not need to change the front sight. The hand guard sits behind the sighte.
