Yet another shooting rampage!

I have about had it with this crap. Pretty good chance now that there will be stricter gun laws in the near future. All Hell is about to break loose. Go ahead and visit Yahoo and check out the news.

The Guardian's account of this here has the perp as having 4 outstanding handgun violations already. Like, hmm, this guy wasn't going to be deterred by gun laws of any sort. So, in a way, this incident goes to show the futility of having gun laws to begin with. Now, how many of the victims were armed? It doesn't sound like any of them were. Were the police able to prevent this sort of rampage? No, the killing was already well underway before they could respond. The police can't be everywhere defending everybody all the time. So, this sounds to me like another case of an armed wolf rampaging through a bunch of defenseless sheep -- a bloody slaughter. No, this isn't a case for more gun control, it is a case for less gun control. More defensive weapons need to be in the hands of responsible citizens against just this sort of sociopath.

Wonder were he got the bullett proof vest Is this going to be the new thing wearing them. They are going to come big time after are guns and those wimps in DC will cave in. Better buy your AR's AK's and lots of hi-cap mags. They will be outlawed again by end of year,

Bzzt. Sorry, wrong answer. Thanks for playing.

Any new anti-gun bills have to be passed buy the house. Which is dominated by republicans. And the democrats in pro-gun areas (like the south) have to be careful or they'll be out of a job after 2006.

And before it can be passed by the house, it has to get out of the judiciary committee. Which means it has to get by the chairman of the judiciary committee. Who happens to be one of the staunchest 2nd amendment supporters in the House.

Those of you behind the lines in occupied territories may have to worry about state bans, but an AWB is dead at the federal level for the foreseeable future.

We'd like to hope that we can trust the Republican majority in the House, but do you really trust them that much? The media is a powerful tool. All the waning (whining) Dumbocrats have to do is put a media spin on the new assault weapons ban and anyone not voting for it will be percieved as soft on crime, out of touch with the American public, incompassionate towards the victims of these tragedies, and bowing to radical pro-gun lobbying groups like the NRA, who have obviously bought every last iota of moral integrity these politicians had left and are now controlling them like little puppets. The Dems are politicians too--they get paid to think of creative methods to get their own way. As a last resort, they could spin it as a compromise attached to another bill. They tried this before and it failed, but how many bills do you think Reps will be able to kill for the sake of allowing us our assault weapons? If the AWB got tied to something seemingly unrelated to crime or gun control, such as an education or social security reform bill, do you honestly think the Republicans would kill it just so we could have our flash surpressors and 30 rounds magazines again? If you do, you are more of an optimist that I. I am digging in and my only problem is being a po college boy and therefore lacking the necessary monetary funds to get the "evil" assault weapons and magazines I'd like to have before the numnuts in DC have a chance to screw us over again, in our best interest, of course. Please send donations to...

BillCA,

Normally I'd agree with your statement, but that was an old lady. If it were a 30-something man (or woman), then I could see the criticism, but I think little old ladies have the right to be shocked at seeing a bloodied body fall off an air conditioner.

I like how the media described him as "Leaving a 20 mile trail of bloodshed" as one reporter put it this morning.

Shootings and killings are commonplace in the Republik of MD. Look at the local news here in the tri-state area, typically there is a shooting or two every night in MD.

Where is lots of GUN control. (Hard to get CCW's there.)

Let that be a lesson to the Anti's.
