yesterdays range trip?

Double Impact

As the title says went to a range tuesday and I am usually the only one there.

However today there four other guys there. It just happened the I only brought a 45 acp with me and every guy there had only 9mm. now in conversation with these fella's 9mm is what they all EDC. I remember less than a yr ago it was 40S&W or 45 acp now it's exclusively becoming 9mm.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against 9mm and I to carry it at times.

But it seems like it is becoming a much preferred rd.
One guy says well the FBI finally woke up is now switching over to 9mm, That's what helped me decide.

What your thought's on what i see as a renewed 9mm craze?

I've always carried 40 and don't see a reason to change. I will say that it does seem like 9mm has had a surge in popularity recently though.

I don't know about the "surge" in popularity or whatever as 9mm has been quite popular for several decades.

One thing though, the 9mm round is finally returning to availability in many areas, allowing people to again shoot inexpensively. Thats a big factor for many in purchasing, and for others to again be able to shoot their existing 9mms.

For the last couple of years I've heard more instructors ( well known companies ) not just some guy at the range....talking about "shot placement" and "speed of follow-up shots" on target....and not so much about caliber / and the 9mm seems to be the preferred option.

Cost of ammo to practice I think is also a realistic issue as well ....especially for most civilians.

So again the 9mm seems to be the heavily preferred or heavily recommended option.

( I'm still a .45 acp guy ) but I will admit that I practice with a 1911 in 9mm a lot - to keep my cost down a little.
