Yahoo Snubs Gun Owners

Today, the search engine Yahoo refused to allow the Handgun Club of America to advertise with their company saying, "We are unable to accept this listing because your site promotes a product or service with which Yahoo! Search Marketing does not wish to be associated."

No other reason was given.

According to statistics, there are 65 million handguns in America, and 99% of them are owned by law abiding citizens who have chosen to exercise their 2nd amendment rights and possess a firearm. Many owners of handguns are trained and have permits to carry concealed weapons legally in their states. Many other citizens keep them at home, or at their place of business, to protect themselves or their families.

Not surprisingly, almost all handgun owners at one time or another have questions about the safe operation of their firearm ... how to handle themselves appropriately during stressful, life-and-death situations ... and which equipment to purchase? All questions that the Handgun Club of America does its best to answer, so handgun owners across the country can handle their weapons safely, skillfully, sensibly, and well within the boundaries of the law.

However, in a frightening display of "Big Brother", Yahoo has decided that it is the ultimate arbiter as to which information law abiding Americans can search for.

"I have just two words for Yahoo," said the President of the Handgun Club of America. "Use google."

If you want to check out their website, go to www.handgunclub.com.

Google does the same, I know from experience. They forbid anything even remotely related to firearms. The will not allow any advertisements from anything at all including pro2A groups and accessories. I believe Google "banned" guns on their SE before Yahoo. I wasn't aware Yahoo was doing the same thing.

Confirming what Republicrat says.
Google Ads will delete specific search words related to firearms while allowing anything from "female bondage" to "teen porn" to "coprophilia" to draw people into advertiser sites.

They have this right, of course. We have the right not to support them.

I have been doing google searches for holsters all day trying to find the right one and I have had no problems. I would say that is firearm related. Am I missing something? In the process of searching for my next purchase I have typed in Smith & Wesson, Taurus, Remington, etc and they all pop up in the search results. What are you guys searching for?

We're not talking about search results....they have to turn those up for all searches or their product becomes of less value to the public.

We're referring to the Google Ads.....paid for listing on the right side on the page. Yes, you may get Paid For Ads with something like "gun holster"; but try "gun", "guns", "pistol", "Smith & Wesson"....stuff like that. Best you'll get is a link to Ebay, which sells no firearms.

Nothing wrong with the old boy playing favorites, but Teoma / Ask evidently took his ad as well.

I assume it's this Handgun Club of America ?
