I'm a rookie reloader & I picked up some xtreme 55gn FMJ bullets & I want to reload them for my AR. I plan on using LC Brass & CCI 41 primers & I got several one pound cans of Hodgdon powder.

My question is can I use any 55gn load data for FMJ in the reloading manuals?
What do you use for OAL for an AR magazine?

1. Yes. Sierra lists one load table for 7 different 55 gr. bullets. But start 10% lower than max and work up gradually.
2. To fit magazine and chamber. 2.25" or 2.24" are common standards, but you can go longer to the extent they will still fit both the mag and chamber.
