XS Sights for Guide Gun

Anyone here have experience with the XS sight system for the Marlin Guide Gun? My eyes dont do the best with the factory sights, and I like the idea of a peep sight. The rail would be nice for mounting someting like an Eotech down the road too.
I don't hunt...just informal target shooting and plinking.

.

I've only used the short LeverScout rail - which allows a receiver peep sight to be mounted as normally. (I installed an XS peep sight)

FWIW, in the 8 years since I installed it, complete with a scout scope, I never used the peep - and eventually relocated the peep to another rifle.

i have a williams peep sight on my marlin 1894c and i really like it. it enhanced my fast target acquisition a lot.

I use a Williams receiver-mounted peep sight and a Lyman small-bead front sight on mine... works great. I use the .050 aperture with the brass insert. It's a tack-driver with my cast Saeco #17 gas checks and IMR-4198.

No need for a rail in my application.

I have the XS sights on my Marlin 336 in .35 and a williams rear sight on my 450 guide gun. I will probably swap them around. XS sights are nice.

No .... but I put a pistol scope on my daughter's Marlin 30A with their Leverscout mount.

Works well.

I have the rail/peep combo on my 336. It works quite well, though you do have to take the rear off if you're using low scope mounts.

I have it on there mostly as a backup, but I have used the sights a couple times, and they seem to work quite well.
They did a good job of making it fit the lines of the rifle without looking like it's just bolted on there (even though it is).

.44 carbine

I've got a set of XS sights, the peep and white highlighted post, on a Ruger .44 carbine and can say w/o reservation that I can see them better than the std peep and bead on my Marlin lever, and way, way better than bead and leaf that was standard on the .44 or the Marlin.

But you reach a point on short stubby barrels and aging eyes, that a 'scope is the only option.

I went with Skinner Sights on my 39, 1894, and 1895. Absolutely love them and less expensive than XS. For comparison, I put XS on my Win 94. I like them, but not as much as the Skinner.
