XDm 45c 3.8"

Took my new XDm compact out to the range. Zero/no buyers remorse. With the extended mag the gun is a joy to shoot. Back on target better than either of my nines. Point of aim is spot on. Recoil is very mild - using Monarch 230gr FMJ.
OTOH with the short mag, I am a menace...low and very low on several rounds. Third reload was better, but not really acceptable. Is it likely what? Trigger pull, grip? Any advice would be helpful before I scatter a few dozen more rounds.

Proud to say my younger daughter is now a gun owner- LC9c. Her older sister is very disappointed in both of us.

Shooting buddy of mine and his wife had issues also shooting the short mag in their 3.8c. They put one of those Pearce grip extensions on it and fell in love all over again. They put Dawson Precision adjustable sights on it and the little gun is awesome-doesn't really give up much to the 525.

hmm.. I do not have that problem when switching from the 13 rounders to 9 rounder in my XDM45 compact, but I will say that I have put upwards of 2000 rounds through it and I was still somewhat developing what are still novitiate skills at the time I bought it. my pinky dangling off the end was something I had to work on getting used to but I think the key is a somewhat relaxed grip.
