How does it stack up compared to other compact offerings?

I did a search but didn't come up with much.

Thanks

I'm honestly not a big fan of the XD/XDM, and I've owned about 15 different models over the years - just about every model made.

The 9mm XDM compact is definitely my overall favorite. It fit my hand well(with the Pearce pinky extension on the magazine). I don't like the 19rd magazines as I think they're too long and feel weird in the hand.

The compact with pinky extension is excellent. It's smooth cycling, accurate, and feels good. My one and only complaint is that I just don't like their triggers. The rolling break instead of an actual 'wall' always throws me off. Many people love this style and shoot very well with it. So if you can get along with the trigger, it's definitely a home run. Buy with confidence. Springfield Armory has some of the best customer service in the industry, should you ever need to use it.

I have the 45, and it's my favorite shooter. It is also an excellent outside carry with a BH Sherpa. With the compact mag it does not print under an untucked shirt. Thinking seriously about the 9mm to fill another (imagined) gap in the arsenal.

I liked mine, but I used mine for woods carry, not CC.
Balanced well with a full mag; trigger was fine. But it was a full-size pistol.

I have an XDM 9mm 3.8 compact. I LOVE IT. I trust my life to it whenever I carry it. As a double-stack it is fatter and more difficult to conceal than say, an XDS... but the 13+1 capacity (I don't carry with one in the chamber) is awesome. I carry IWB, and it hasn't been a problem to conceal this winter. We'll see this summer, but I don't expect problems. Double stacks are harder to conceal than single stacks, obviously.

At the range I love the flexibility of the 19 round magazines. I try to practice with the 13 more than the 19 because I carry it with the short mag.

It is supremely accurate, for me. All of my friends that have fired have commented on the accuracy and how naturally it aims. I will say the trigger isn't perfect, a little bit of extra take-up, but it is very good, no complaints.
