im on a really tight budget and it seems the springfeild xd45 is a decent handgun with a decent price. pros/cons? is it worth the purchase

I’ve had one for a few years and can’t say enough good things about it. Accurate, reliable, tough and holds 14 rounds. I worked over the trigger, but I do that on all my guns. I also installed TFO sights and a trigger stop.

I have one its a good gun and a good choice. I like my glocks a little better though they cost about the same.

I rate the Glock & the XD about the same in reliability. My XD has been flawless in thousands of rounds. Since I shoot mostly home cast lead bullets, the XD gets the nod from me.

I have an XD .45 Compact and I can't say enough good things about it. Doesn't matter what I feed it, it just keeps shooting with full reliability. It also is the best of both worlds in size if you CC/OC. You can go 10+1 and even with good sized hands you can put your hold hand on the grip, then if you want a larger grip or more ammo you can step up to 13+1 with an extender and it shoots and acts just like a full size XD.

I have a Glock 17 as well, and while both are extremely reliable the XD is just way more comfortable and natural feeling to me. I mostly only have the Glock 17 because it shares magazines with my Sub-2000.

This was my second handgun purchase after deciding to increase to a .45 from a 9mm. I chose the XD when I compared it to a S&W M&P I was originally looking at. All things being equal between the two (same ammo and doing the same thing with both guns), the XD was more accurate. It's currently my full time carry pistol.

I have the XD 45 compact and it has been trouble free. I picked it over the standard XD because i liked having the option of using the short mags for CC or the full size ones with the grip extension.
