XD-M 3.8 Compact & XDS

Finally said to heck with it and put one of each on the layaway from GB (XD-M Compact is used), and as an added bonus since I did it yesterday, caught the last day of S.A.'s XD-S magazine promotion where you get an extra 7, 8, & 9 round magazine in addition to the included 7- and 8-rounder!

I had rented both the XDM Compact and full size quite a while back and shot both very well, but was never struck by the urge to buy one. However, just a few days ago I spent A LOT of time messing with every model imaginable at a Gander Mountain along my route, and it hit me as to one reason why i like it so much and, why I finally decided to pull the trigger on getting one (y'all prepare to laugh yourselves to death); the way the backstrap arches from the bottom of the grip up into the beaver tail, to me it is practically identical to the curve of my CZ 100, which is by far the most comfortable pistol in my hand because of the way the grip melts together with my hand. My apologies for the stock XDM Compact photos in this combined image...

I'm still kind of surprised at myself that I decided to get another single stack in the XD-S (briefly owned a Shield) but, have taken a good long look at all of my usual activities between my work and then time off at home, and simply came to the realization that at certain times it would be easier for me to do many things if I had a slightly smaller, thinner carry piece (and still considering an LCR as well later on).

As always, I promise a full range report and comparison pictures after I get them in a few weeks.

Versatility with the different extensions is nice.

By the way, you can't go wrong with an LCR either. LCR357 with 38+P is my goldilocks pocket gun. Not too light, not too heavy.

Thanks Slimjim9! Seems like everybody has nothing but good to say about the LCR. Was thinking about getting one of those next but, I saw what I thought was a pretty doggone good deal (a lot less $$$ than the first one I had), so I added this on layaway instead!

The mag giveaway is a screamin' deal. I got that last summer for the XD subcompact pistol. Strongly considered doing an XDs because of the deal, but I'm likely looking for a Beretta Nano if I get anything smaller than my XD sc.

Whats not to like about a 45acp in a easy to conceal package??
I wanted one since they 1st came out. Since getting the comfort you want usually requires a limited round count.
Might as well go big.

I finally got off the SNI and put one on layaway. Just in time for the mag promo.
Found out about that after.. BONUS!!!

I like free mags!!!!

I added it to my rotation and it has been my only carry piece since.
Does exactly what I was hopping it would do. I suspect I will be toting this baby for a good many years to come.

Mag deal is pretty sweet! I'm really surprised that nobody else had an interest in that XDM Compact with the three extra mags, as I was the only bidder on it (same with the new HK P2K I just snagged also)... [emoji39]
