XD 4 inch - convert to subcompact grip length?

I am not terribly fond of my XD9. I'm half-heartedly trying to sell it, but I've also toyed with the idea of chopping the grip to fit the subcompact magazines and increase concealability. I know it'll completely ruin any resale value of the gun.

Is there anything that extends down the backstrap of the grip that would be adversely affected by trimming the grip? Any metal stiffening inserts along the mag well, or oddities like that?

It irks me that they have a .45 "compact" model with shortened grip but full barrel length, but don't have a similar model for the 9/40 platform gun.

there shouldn't be anything in your way, as far as i can tell looking into an XD magwell..

For some more XD grip chopping info.....go ove to www.xdtalk.com there are plenty of people who do that all day long. Hit up the search on it, and you should find plenty of info. Thats where me and my XD45 hang out at.
