WWB vs Fiocchi

WWB or Fiocchi?

I have shot a fair amount of Fiocchi in the last six months, as well as some WWB. If needed I would carry Fiocchi for S/D but not W.W.B.
In the late 60's and early 70's, when I had to buy my own ammo, Winchester Western and Remington were the gold standard, it's a shame that Apparently Winchester has lost that rating.

reliable in what way. Both fire consistantly, both hit the paper etc. Some depends on your gun and what you want them to do. IE my CZ83 in .32 loves fiocchi but WWB not so much (accuracy wise). In my 9mm's and 45's can't see a difference myself.

in 40 cal it sucks.
Or it did. I won't use it again.
Jammed every other round.
Might have been just the batch I had, but it isn't worth the price difference to the federal at wally world.

I've found either to be acceptable practice ammo. In your gun however, one may suit you better than the other. Buy a few boxes of each and give them a try.

In the mainly .45 ACP pistols I have shot them in it is 6 of one half a dozen of the other, but your pistol may like one over the other.

Never had huge issues with either, but in my two .45's (Colt Combat Commander and S&W 4516-1) I've had fewer problems with the Fiocchi. The difference, though, has been really marginal.

I've not shot very much Fiocchi, but I had no issues with the limited amounts I've shot. The only issues I've ever had with WWB were some over-pressure .44 Magnum ammo (slightly bulged cases and sticky extraction in a S&W M29-2) and underpowered .32 ACP ammo (chronic malfunctions in a Walther PP that were not displayed by other ammo like Magtech, S&B, Prvi Partizan, or Remington). I have, however, shot a lot more WWB than Fiocchi so I've had a lot more opportunities to have problems with it. Overall, I'd use whichever I could get the cheapest for range ammo.

IMO the Fiocchi is cleaner and a bit more peppy.

Odd, I find the Fiocchi to be dirtier. However, the only caliber I have shot of it was the .45ACP. As far as peppy....I couldn't tell the difference.

As was suggested, buy a few boxes of each and make your own determination. Ammo of the same brand can vary from lot to lot.

I've never shot Fiocchi but I've never had a malfunction with WWB. That being said I've also never had an issue with Winchester's cheap 12 gauge shells so I trust Winchester to make a good product.

I've shot a lot of both. In my experience the Fiocchi is better quality, more accurate and is loaded a bit hotter.

I've never had a malfunction with Fiocchi ammo but have had a round or two of WWB hang up in otherwise reliable guns. To be fair I've shot a good deal more WWB than Fiocchi so it's probably not a fair comparison.

If the price is the same I pick Fiocchi, but if the WWB is cheaper by any decent amount I tend to go with the WWB instead.

+1 on the Winclean. Yes, I know that's not what you asked. But I have found it significantly cleaner in both 9mm and .38 special, and never a reliability problem. Accuracy is always more me than any difference in major brand ammo that I have used. (The only exception to this is .22, then there are major differences in both reliability and accuracy.)
Maybe this is more my guns than me though. The Sig and Detective Special in particular never fail to go boom.

That's also my take. I have never had any big reliability problems with either brand, but I like the fact that Fiocchi FMJ is loaded hotter.

American Eagle and S&B are also loaded hotter than normal FMJ ammo.
