WW Super cases ( 25-06 ) does this come from some specific ammo ???

I'm trying to achieve matching head stamp brass for all my rifle cartridge reloading... I don't currently have very many 25-06 cases, with most being WW Super cases... finding once fired cases with WW Super head stamps is tougher... I've considered buying factory ammo if I could that had WW Super as a head stamp... does Winchester offer any of its line of ammo in 25-06 that someone knows for sure comes with the WW Super stamp???

I've found that often other lines of a manufacturers brand ( Like super X ) may have something other than the standard Winchester head stamp

anyone that shoots Winchester ammo in a 25-06 able to help me out ???

it may prove easier to just start from scratch with Hornady cases, as I see them for sale quite a bit right now, & I see they have loaded ammo for less than a dollar per round... or on some calibers I've been buying PRVI ammo to have reloadable brass for later...

if I have to start over, I can always wet tumble the brass I have, & sell it at the one gun show I sell at each year, so it wouldn't be a total loss...

even though things are loosening up some, buying some brass & cartridges can still be challenging... thanks for any help...

I have: (New) WW Super //nickel plated Brass.
25-06 Rem is their cartridge head stamp.
I suspect to get nickel brass one must purchase {Winchesters Supreme Elite} factory ammo these days.
I don't think W/Western nickel brass is available as a component to us reloader's any longer.

thanks for the reply... reason I posted here, is I suspect you are right, that I can't buy them as a component anymore... I would prefer brass over nickel so if I could figure out which line of Winchester's ammo comes out with brass WW Super cases, I'd buy ammo & save the brass... I was hoping to collect / scrounge about 400 - 500 cases in 25-06, & sad thing is, I have about 150 of the WW Super cases ( so a good portion ) depending on the availability & the price, of the needed Winchester ammo, I may be switching to something available cheaper or as a component... & selling my WW Super cases

I think WW Super is on Winchester's Super X brand. Your local gun shop can order it for you. Checked to make sure they load .25-06 and they do. No mention of the case material, but nickeled cases are plated brass.

I would suspect that if you simply want visual conformity that you might find it with newer production brass. However, if you want the consistency of brass that was formed all the same same same, you ought take all that you have and trade it off for new production brass.

I do understand your angle -- but with the extreme volume of different chamberings that you load for, my head would be SPINNING at the prospect of even attempting to get some, half or most of them all in-line with case head stamps.

I've run into Super X cases as well as WW Super... I might have to go around to some of the local sellers & open a couple boxes ???

unfortunately it's not like there is usually a whole bunch of 25-06 on the shelves, around here anyway...

SEVENS... yup it's just a bit 'o OCD... I'd love to have all one lot number of 500 cases for each caliber, but because I can ( no you can't :o ) control my OCD a little... I'm settling for same "era" head stamps... ( I've sorted through 4 distinct R-P variations by R-P spacing, or font on 30-06 cases, to get my 500 cases ) this leaves me selling several bags of R-P 30-06 cases at next gun show... just none that match the ones I'm keeping

I'm hoping that if I have the same "visual" head stamps that I'm from the same "era" or plant, & that I'll have "some" uniformity of brass composition & wall thickness on each of the calibers, or at least be a little better than loading mixed head stamp cases from 3-4 different decades???

I have about 40 W-W Super stamped, nickel plated .25-06 brass left from a couple boxes of Winchester Supreme Silvertip ammo. I've also got some W-W Super brass for other cartridges that was once Super-X ammo.

If it's all the same brand of brass, see how many grains of water each "style" headstamp will hold, and see what the average weight of each headstamp is. If there is no obvious difference between them after those two tests, I doubt you will ever notice a difference. As far as the visual aspect, you will have to let your OCD be your guide ;)

All of the new Winchester reloading brass that I have bought for 25-06 has had the WW Super head stamp. I usually get it from Sportsman's warehouse or Midway. Recently, I bought some Prvi brass from Graf and Son. I think it may be better.

Sorry, just realized that you were looking for factory ammunition with that head stamp. Don't know about that.

wait... what

you found new reloading Winchester brass for 25-06 ???

I'd be happy to buy new brass in WW Super if I could find it... ( 25-06 is not real popular around my area ) & my online sources rarely have 25-06 cases... if I could be sure they had WW Super head stamps I'd be happy to buy those...

Yes, every time I have purchased new Winchester reloading brass in 50 count bags it has had the WW Super head stamp. Several times online from Midway
as well as from two different local stores.

Midway's website says they expect to have some in stock on 10-25-2014
