WW II Anschuss ammunition

Sepp Allerberger was instructed at sniping school to ask the armourer for Anschuss ammunition. I could find nothing about it in Richard Law's Vol. II Backbone of the Wehrmacht: Sniper Variations of the German K98k Rifle or in Peter Senich's The German Sniper.

Can anyone tell me about them?

I recall reading somewhere that Anschuss cartridges were used for sighting in rifles and machine guns, not meant for general use

Thanks. I think you're correct. I read in Sepp Allerberger's book (Eastern Front Sniper) that one of his instructors at sniper school told them to ask their armourer for Anschuss ammunition.

Considered to be training/ sighting in ammo at what we'd call Match grade. Something about the bullet construction.
