anyone have this information, or can tell me where it is on the web?

Marlin 70 (.22 rifle) and Camp 9 (9mm rifle) in particular.

in case you're wondering why, there are some out there with
aftermarket folding stocks on them (so I've been told).

thnx

Not sure I get it, unless we are talking about state law (CA?). A pre-ban can have a folder or anything else.

thanks nine fingers. I did a search over there before I posted here. no good hits. In fact, I didn't see a forum that the camp 9
would belong to. several lever forums and a .22 forum. oh, well.

Jim Keenan, I might not have explained myself very well.
I have a lead on a couple folding stock Marlins. Other than serial
number, I can't tell pre-ban from post-ban. So I need the
serial number ranges (or cutoff) for preban / post ban to verify.

Marlin Talk

Believe it or not, the Camp Carbine discussion (what there is of it) takes place in the "Collectors Corner" forum at Marlin Talk, located at

http://www.marlinfirearms.com/marlinTalk/index.htm

One thing you can learn from the threads there is that to ascertain the year of manufacture of your camp carbine, you subtract the first two digits of the serial number from 100. Thus, if your serial number is 55XXX, your carbine was made in '95. You're welcome.

One TFL member had a Camp 9 folder for sale on the Gear for Sale forum here about a month ago.

Regards.

If he subtracted the first two digits of the serial number from 100 and it was 55xxxxx his camp carbine was made in 1945. I don't think they existed then. Do you :)
