WTK: hearing protection in the field?

Does anyone use hearing protection while hunting? I realize that you may use only one or two shots, but they are still loud.

Absolutely! Protects my "hearing resource", and in fear that hearing loss might be cumulative.

I wear baffled earplugs when I hunt, similar to the commonly available Silencio model. They are inexpensive and effective in this situation. They take the edge off the report by way of a few decibels of attenuation, while still allowing me to adequately and safely hear my surroundings.

You might wonder how one is supposed to hear approaching deer while wearing these. But honestly, when did you last hear an approaching deer?
