WTF: RPK receiver

Isn't it just an AK receiver?
That's only my assumption, mind you. I figure it the same caliber, uses the same mags, so the only other question is in the barrel attachment.

In a pinch you can use an AK receiver. The RPK receiver is beefed up and 50% thicker and heavier. I'm trying to go for a little originality and make it a little easier for me to put it together, as putting an RPK kit on an AK receiver takes a little modifing. If anyone knows where I could find one that would be great.
