want a cheap sxs 12 gauge to turn into my own coach gun project, it will be

one hundred percent legal, i would like to deal somewhat locally because i

live in lockport illinois and its about to blocks away from rinks gun shop, i

have valid il foid and no criminal record, it would just be easier to go to the

gun shop and transfer info than to pay ffl charges and shipping rates etc.

hammerless model would be prefferd and i really dont want to pay more than

$250, thank you all...it doesnt have to be a pretty gun by any means, as

long as it wroks without major problems

Buy a Stevens 311, they are inexpensive, solid and reliable. They do lack a disconnector, pulling both barrels at the same time is something you will only do once.

Don't even do it once, it's a good way to crack the stock.

Stevens also made several tons of these for Sears and other retailers, these guns can be a very good buy.

I have a twelve and a twenty, they are a great working man's double gun.

I second the Stevens 311.. My dad has the 16ga model which I put countless boxes through growing up. Its still as tight as it was in the '70s when he bought it new.

Stevens 311

They show up on Gunbroker all the time. Since they are not made anymore there are a lot of them + 50 years old and can thus be purchased with a C+R license.

ahhhh the C&R licsense, i never thought of that, that is a very good idea,

and thank you for that, i will start a gunbroker hunt as well as my local

shops....still open to local offers of course...thanks for the info so far

evryone!
