Im looking for a Marlin 1894c in 38/357. I live in KS so I would be willing to drive as long as it was within 100-200 miles. Im not wanting a new rifle, looking for an 80's model (pre Safety) but would be willing to buy newer as long as it was a True Marlin. (Not a Remington produced Marlin) Let me know if you have one you are selling. Pics would be appreciated. Would possibly have a trade if interested. Feel free to PM me. Thanks

Older pre-safety Marlin 1894's chambered in .357 are a pretty rare item. They are seldom seen on the used market because guys that have 'em hold on to them like grim death itself!

You'll probably find one locally eventually if you look hard enough but it might take YEARS to find. I'd suggest looking at Gunbroker or Gunsamerica if you want to get this taken care of while you're still young enough to enjoy shooting the rifle ;)

I looked for two years before I found mine and I settled with a safety model, made in the Marlin plant at New Haven. I haven't found the safety to be an issue, I simply ignore it. Some slip an O-ring around it to keep it from becoming inadvertently applied, but I haven't bothered with that.

They're fine little carbines and while I was looking for mine, the counter guy told me that he hardly ever sees them. If I see another I'm liable to pick it up, just because they're so hard to find.
