Wraparound Grips for 1911

I have a Kimber 1911 (full size) that I love to shoot. The problem is that it just doesn't sit right in my hand. Can anyone recommend a wraparound type grip for the 1911? Thanks for any input!

I have the Hogue rubber monogrip with finger grooves on my Colt CCO. Wouldn't trade them for anything. Absolutely wonderful.

Houge also makes wood grips for the 1911 with the finger grooves in the front. The rubber is ok but ugly.I love the factory rosewood grips on my Kimber. SHOKz

You might try the Pachmyr "Combat" rubber wraparound. This style does not have the swell on the left side. I've always like the fit.

My hands are medium-wide, but fairly long, if that's any help...

I had a set of those Hogue rubber wrap around style grips on my Colt defender. They felt good shooting, but were UGLY and the "pebble grain" finish seemed to grap a t-shirt and print "handle" to the whole world! Took them off and gave em' a pitch! Added a set of smooth rosewood. I still have a set of rubber finger groove inserts that go under your stock grips....hated them too! EMAIL me and they are yours!

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Apart from my CCO, the Hogue rubber grips are nothing to look at. But on the CCO.. which has a satin looking stainless lower and upper... the black rubber Hogue grips look just great -- functional and businesslike -- and those classic 1911 lines. They help A BUNCH with control of the lightweight CCO. Would not go back to wood grips on the CCO. Now, on my all steel full size 1911... wood grips are the only way to go!
