Watching Jerry Miculek on History Channel's Extreme Marksmen, and once again, I'm blown away by the man's skill. Watching him put 10 rounds on target with his 1911 in under two seconds is cool, but putting 12 rounds from a revolver onto a plate from five yards and again from ten yards while blindfolded is just ridiculously amazing!!
Drawing, firing six, reloading and firing six more in under five seconds (and having every round hit its' mark) without being able to see, simply blows my mind.
Mister Miculek, you are unspeakably inspiring.
Thanks.

He is not human. I have stood 6 ft. behind him and watched him do this stuff and I still cannot hardly believe what I saw. I started shooting a S&W 625 back in the 90s when he first became "the revolver guy" and actually talked to him at National matches and he will explain in detail exactly how he does his reloads. He says 'Ma"am" to the ladies and "Sir" to the men in a quiet humble voice. They don't make guys like this any more.

Some people are "super human" in their sports. No amount of practice could ever make the equal of Jerry or Bill Jordan or many others.

No amount of practice could ever permit me to run, jump, swim or box like the Olympic athletes.

I can only marvel and enjoy what I am seeing.

I've watched Jerry at the last few Steel Challenge Nationals. Seeing him shoot Pendulum in 2.5 sec with a revolver is enough to make you want to switch to golf.

Drail: I beg to differ. I can state with all confidence that they do still make guys like him. I'm one of them, and with the grace of God, my two sons will be also. P.S. Just so you know, I'm speaking exclusively of Miculek's good manners. Now, if I could only shoot like he does, I'd be ecstatic!!;)

Amen to that!!

Almost all of us can teach our children to shoot but very few will have the skills and discipline of those top shooters. I joined the shooting community/brotherhood late in life and have always been impressed at the above-average quality of the participants in terms of deportment, discipline and overall decency.

I have Jerry's full set of DVD's and will agree that the man is nothing short of awesome. His humility, discipline and decency come through very well in the videos. I find it very interesting that many of the top people in our sport/hobby seem to be exceptional people as well as outstanding athletes. This isn't true in many other areas.

I live in Canada where the negative image of guns and shooters is widely and wildly misunderstood and distorted. I tell anyone and everyone that they will be pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere at either of my two clubs. There are several if not many pastimes that can teach young people values and the shooting sports are among them.

We can teach our kids the basic shooting and safety skills but go several levels further by being a good example of good people. We owe this to ourselves as well as the younger generations because so much is at stake. The media are filled with attention getters that behave like morons. We don't need to emulate them but rather we can try to follow Mr. Miculek's example of how to be a gentleman.

He's a freak! :)

I am a big fan of Mr. Miculek, for his skill and humility. I watch (repeatedly) an older video of him setting the 6 shot-reload-6 shot record with his 625, and he literally "throws" the moon clipped reload at the open cylinder from about a foot away, and it just slides right in! He is unbelievable!

Then add how well he shoots fast, and it's no wonder he is unbeatable. :o

Jerry M.

Thomas.

you are absolutely right, he does "throw" the cluster at the cylinders and he shows this in his instructional DVD. I know from personal experience that reloading under stress causes me to tense up and try to jam the live rounds in which is a losing game.

JM and his grips

I installed the grips on a S&W PC 357 after watching all of JM's DVD's and learning a ton. His personality comes through on his instructional videos very clearly. What impressed me is that the grips actually they do what they are designed to do; they really work. My grip on the pistol improved as did my accuracy. They looked super cool too. :)
