While updating my preferences I just noticed that today is one year since I signed up here at TFL :eek: A little over a year ago I was one of them clueless anti's and I can't tell you how scared I was of guns (Smack to the head Sandy ) as I don't have one to call my own yet I have become so obsessed with them people are starting to worry about me. I must say this side of the fence is much brighter ;). Thinking back to a year ago I remember GunznROsie telling me about this place (the Rosie friends were getting sick of me asking questions on that board) she had told me this is a great place to ask questions and get factual information. After that little invasion of WB I was so nervous to post here, there weren't that many nice gun owners posting to us, I figured I was going to get slammed, but instead everyone welcomed me, offered help to any questions I had, and I got a ton of emails . I didn't post all that much at first because I had no clue as to what you all were talking about but I read everyday and each day learned something new. Sure I don't know even close to everything just yet, but I sure in hell have great comebacks when talking with anti's! One day I will be as knowledgeable as you all but until then I'll be here reading, learning, and asking the same questions over and over [insert wink smiley here]. I'm really glad I had the chance to 'meet' you all and make some new friends, funny thing is I found out some of you are just as crazy as I am ....now that's scary. :D

I was going to wait until this actual 'event' took place to tell you all this but I guess today would be a good day to do it. Sometime in August I will be getting my first .22 rifle [insert supergrin here]. I just need another good day of training and then I will head over to an FFL and start the transfer process. Someone was nice enough to clean out the gun closet and give away some of those old guns so it looks like I will be inheriting one of them. [insert big grin here] WHOOOOO HOOOO! After I pay off some stuff I'll be shopping around for a handgun. Down the road when the cash situation is right I really want an AR but that has to wait until I can afford it, the GI Joe plastic M-16 that sits upon my computer will have to do for now. Now there's no stopping me, I'll have a safe full of guns in no time. :D

Ok so I am a slow learner and buyer but I'm getting there. Hopefully for the two year 'anniversary' I'll be listing all the guns I bought within that year. :)

Reading your post should remind us all that there are salvagable Americans who can realize how misled they have been by the anti-Rights movement.

Hey Miss D., congratulations on your one-year anniversary here! :D Also, you'll have a *great* time with your .22 rifle--maybe even as much fun as posting at TFL. ;)
 
I don't entirely trust the validity of the "Date Registered" on this site. I thought I'd been here a LOT longer. It says I registered June 21, 1999. I know I was a member when I bought my first pistol when I turned 21. Now I'm turning 23 in 2 weeks, and I've only been here for one year? hmmm
:)
Reliable or not, I've enjoyed this place immensely. I've shot with about a half-dozen other TFL members, and both of those times were my favorite range sessions.

Anyone else notice that somewhere along the way, a somewhat insecure and doubtful girl turned into someone that is filled with ultra confidence? I/we knew you had it in you all along ;). Sandy, I remember one of your initial posts here and I asked a question you never answered about which side of the door the threats were on. It's an old saw, but it's as true now as it was 30K years ago, the demons you face are never as bad as you fear they will be. Once you face up to those fears, you are invincible, and you will have found you are never to be alone again. I wish you sincere success in all your endevours, and hope you are as successful with the other demons. It trancends just owning a gun, although it was something you feared, you were honest enough and had courage enough to know it was an unreasonable fear of an inanimate object. Follow your dreams and soar. Take a deep breath, it's the breath of freedom. Let me assure you, it was a real pleasure to watch you change, and not at all from the aspect of the guns. It's a very satisfying experience to watch a winner in action.

I am almost at the 1000 post too! How about that? Kinda sad that one can get happy about posting 1000 times :D High school renunion:"So what have you accomplished in life?" Sandy:"Well I have 1000 posts at TFL" :D LOL

Jim V, that was Lori, she is/was having some problems at home, I don't think she is online too much these days. Chatted with G&R not too long ago she has a buncha kids to train :D.

I just checked the forum policies and paragraph 5 states that, " Any member regardless of number of postings in any of the forums and who has reached one year of membership has to treat members who have greeted him/her on this special day with a box of ammo of his/her choice."

I got a 9mm. ;)
