I have one and a recent article prompted me to see what the heck they ARE going for.

Not on Gunbroker I won't I guess.

I've had the thing since they came out.

This is what they look like:

Just got curious.

It's the damn ammo shortage I tell you. People hoarding buying up all 7 existing rounds of gyro jet ammo for themselves. Selfish if you ask me. :D

Seriously though you have one of those. How doest it shoot /behave if you have shot it? I have never even seen a real one.

There are actually many flavors of Gyro-jets, current prices depend on the caliber, loading, and condition. Are yours 12 or 13mm? Are they steel or not? Lots of questions before you can determine price.
Take a look here:

12mm Gyrojet being fired by the military here:

They don't show the effect on the target but looks like NO recoil at all.

There's other youtube Gyrojet videos...might have to spend some time there...

P.S. In one of the Man From UNCLE books there was a pretty complete description of the pros and cons of the gun. They don't write 'em like THAT anymore.

I know the whereabouts of six rounds anyway...

I've seen asking prices of up to $250 per round, but they typically go for around a hundred bucks for a single example, and maybe $50-$75 in larger lots. I saw six on Guns America recently for $990 ($165 ea) - nobody bought them.

Wow... I guess I should have jumped all over the Gyrojet 'cartridges' that were for sale locally, last year.

I figured the price was too steep at $12 a pop.

Of course, it was a lot of 130 pieces ($1500).... ;)

Please refer any sellers of $15 12mm ammo to me @ jbar4ranch at A0L D0T C0M. Any amount, but larger lots are better.

$12 ea for 130 rounds... I wouldn't have been able to get my wallet out fast enough!

As an aside, I'm reading a book about Japanese WWII aircraft and they had a low velocity 40mm cannon that they were putting on fighters that intercepted B-29s. The round was a cross between a Volcanic and Gyrojet.

Didn't work.
