Wow...410!

Today I did the usual wobble trap thing with my 20ga Nova. There was a kid/dad combo shooting a pump Remington and little single shot 410.

The kid was having trouble shooting his 410 and the 12ga o/u loaned to him, so I offered my Benelli while using his 410.

Holy cow, that little gun was FUN! Got a 19 with the Nova, and a 23 with the 410. That sucker was MUCH easier to shoot accurately...cock the hammer back, bead down and fragment those suckers.

Dad only paid $20 for it, I may have to get one. Everyone was pretty shocked I shot so well with it...

EDIT: Here's a picture of it. New England Pardner Youth apparently...sure did fit/shoot nicely.

While I don't advocate the .410 single shot as a kid's first gun - instead a 28 ga is much much better [ see the scores on a tote board sometime] - I do advocate for Us bigger kids the .410 single shot for the fun factor. :p

My best so far with a .410 single shot is 15 doves with 12 shells. Hey if the grey missles wanna fly wing to wing - okay by me. :)

I have to much fun with slugs out of these .410 single shots....

Alright, I just *had* to pick one of these up. $60 at a pawn shop and I traded in my lightly used .22 rifle.

What amazes me is how LIGHT the trigger is. I swear it's only about 2 pounds. Took my friend's kid out shooting at the trap range with it and he got 7 on his third game. :D

There is a funny old man at my skeet field has an old winchester model 42 pump with custom made chokes. it is like shooting a daisy air rifle but with more oomph. It was fun because when you hit it there was no doubt. great buy
