Would You Trade?

I have a Taurus Millennium PT111 PRO 9MM that I have had for about six months, it was my concealed carry weapon since then until this week when I got a Glock 30 so I no longer carry the 9mm. I have a custom Crossbreed Supertuck and a Fobus holster with mine. He says he has a box of JHP and a box of target rounds and a holster that has been cut out for the scope that will be included but didnt say anything about extra mags so it may just be the one mag.

So I put it up for sale and a guy offered me a trade for an EAA Witness full sized 45acp with a scope mount and a red dot scope. He says he has a box of JHP and a box of target rounds and a holster that has been cut out for the scope that will be included but didnt say anything about extra mags so it may just be the one mag. I dont know what the value is but here are the two guns.

Let me know what you think.

The thing I like about the witness is, it is a full frame 45 and since I reload 45 and have quite a few semi wadcutter bullets laying around I always have practice ammo and you can convert it to shoot other calibers supposedly

I cant seem to find the conversions online but they are out there somewhere

Yeah, I'd do it too.

Check the gun over or negotiate a return clause. Most folks feel like the Witness is the more valuable gun, so that makes me wonder if there's something wrong with it and that's why he's willing to trade it for something of less value. (but in good shape)

Check that the extractor isn't chipped up, the firing pin broken, or any of that jazz. He may have just gotten it back from EAA after a lengthy wait for service and he has already replaced it.

I know I was so ****** off at my Ruger 10/22, I wanted nothing more to do with it by the time it was finally working right. I sold it at a loss and bought a used 77/22. I was happy to see that SoB go.

He told he he just got his concealed carry license and doesnt have a gun to ccw so that is why he wants to trade. I told him I would like to shoot it first and he can shoot mine and he said no problem

He wants the 9mm because it is cheaper to feed and much easier to carry.

Heck,he's trading a more powerful gun with a red dot scope for a less powerful gun without any scope attached.

I'd just check the gun frame to see if it has any cracking or other issues first and then trade him.

Just think about that ammo situation for a little bit.

The 45 ACP round is a premium roiund.

At least, versus the 9mm,that's the way it's priced right now.

If you can afford to feed it, enjoy.

I've owned several CZ's and one Tanfoglio CZ clone for about 20 years. My Tanfoglio is known as the TZ75 Series 88 Government changed names to the current Witness line after EAA took over for FIE. It's still going strong while every Taurus I've owned has been sent back to the factory for breaking. My TZ remains one of the most accurate and reliable of my handguns. I would do that trade in a heartbeat provided it's in decent shape.

+1 on the Witness. I own the Tanfoglio Silver Team, which is no longer in production. It is a dual compensated version of the Gold Team (triple compensated). The action is smmoooooth as butter. It certainly is not a carry piece though. In fact it is closer to a safe queen. It looks very much like this Gold Team.

Cool. I OWN a TZ Government 12rd with a heavy metal frame $300 and just last week bought a CZ P01 14rd $400 with an alloy frame. Great guns.
Also have bunches of really neat Taurus I OWN which includes a 3rd Gen Millennium Pro. (PS: None of my Taurus have broke and they all work. One must learn not to limp wrist.)
The one you have is a concealed carry gun the CZ is kinda big and heavy. Kind of a wash depending what you want.

do the trade

Get the Witness.
Take the crap off it.
Sell the crap.
Buy more mags, and ammo.
Go shootin'.

(My 45 Witness, about 12 yrs old?, is extremely accurate, although mostly unreliable in function, but just too accurate to sell. I installed a factory 38 Super long-slide top end, and it became fabulously reliable and accurate.
I rid myself of that top end to fund another project, but I still own the Witness.
Over the years I've done a few very small tweaks to improve reliable function, and have made only small improvements. Next is to test a Wolff 18lb recoil spring (because the gun seemed to function more reliably when I tested my 41 AE recoil assembly).
But someday I'll actually have it 'fixed'. At www.egw-guns.com).
