Would you trade...

A 2.5" Smith 686 Stainless 357 mag for a 4" Colt King Cobra in 357 in exactly the same shape? I'm curious on what to do. I like the Smith but have a soft spot in my heart for Colts:rolleyes:

Greetings BamaMac54-

Well, it just depends on what you are going to use a .357 magnum for~?
In my way of thinking, the 2.5" barrel S&W model 686 would be a bit too
heavy for an all day CCW; but on the flip side of the coin is the fact that
the Colt King Cobra has a longer barrel, and thus harder to conceal. I just
acquired a S&W model 66-4 (SMIF:D K-frame) .357 magnum; for those
times when I might want to CCW that caliber, which is rare these days
as I much prefer the .45 auto.:D So, I would say get the Colt and enjoy
punching some paper.

If you can get a chance to shoot both then compare the accuracy and keep the one that shoots straightest for you. If you can't then your guess will be as good as mine.

Either one is a good .357 revolver, but since you say you have a soft spot for Colts (which I fully understand) then make the trade. You won't go wrong either way.

Of the two, I'd prefer to own the Colt. For carry, the shorter barrel and stainless finish make it a better choice. Any way you can own both?
