Would you trade a Shield 9mm for a Rossi 357

I've been looking to trade Mr m&p shield for a 38 or 357 for some time now and the only decent offer so far has been the rossi in blue in 2 inch barrel. Should I keep waiting for better offer. The 9mm comes with both mags and a Blackhawk holster the rossi doesn't have any extras.

From a price standpoint I would stay with the Shield. If the Rossi is the one I previously had, a model R46102, then the Shield cost quite a bit more. Prices may have changed a bit, but I gave $265 for my R46102 when I bought it and Shields are still $350 or higher.

That's probably going to be the consensus on the subject. I never owned or shot a Rossi only held one in lgs. Didn't like the hammer on the trigger deal ,other than that seemed solid. But the Internet and their reviews are pretty low end.

I think the reviews are trying to tell you something.:)

"I personally would rather have the shield. Save up and get a S&W or Ruger revolver over a Rossi."

This ^^^^

I would recommend an old S&W revolver. If you can live without having to have a .357, Model 10s are hard to beat for the $$$. Many former service 10's are currently available at decent prices.

Probably I would not.

I personally wouldn't make that trade but that's not to say it would be a terrible trade. If you wind up satisfied that is all that really matters. After all, neither one of those is ever gonna be an heirloom.

The M&P is a well made gun.... the Rossi typically isn't.

I'd suggest you save up and sell the M&P outright if you really want a nice revolver.

One is a revolver and the other is an Auto. Keep the gun and go and buy a revolver. The Rossi is not a bad gun for the money. They cost now $325.00. My wife has a Rossi R462 SS that is one of the few revolvers that she is able to pull the trigger and hit the target. To carry see has a Ruger LCRX .38spl.
