I also love Maks and dislike Smiths.

But from a financial perspective, what is the monetary value of the Smith. $400+ for a new one? (Don't know, don't buy them). Whereas you can get Bulgie Maks for $100-$150. Maybe it isn't such a good deal after all.

Don't forget to account for the depreciation on the Smith. With the depreciation on it its probably only worth about $300. So its a fair deal. I don't really like Smith autos at all. If I were in your shoes, I'd grab the Maks.

Just to update everyone, I looked at the Bulgarians Maks again closer. They were issued and pretty beaten up. I kept the Smith and got a CZ83 .380 in place of the two issued Maks. When I intially posted, I thought the Maks were unissued. Thanks to everyone in any event.
