Would you buy a used scope?

I was wondering what the group thought about buying a used scope over the internet. I am notlooking at any scope in particular, it is just that I don't want to shell out full price for a long range scope right now and was hoping to find a used one. Any comments are appreciated.

I prefer new but if you see that the scope is in very good shape and the price is right.........then I guess I would go for it!
 
Bought a bunch of Leupolds used over the Internet. The various vendors (private parties) were honest and I'm very happy with the scopes (and the savings).
 
Most of my used scopes have either come along with a rifle I traded into, or were bought at a gun show. Never had a problem.

If you look through a scope "wrong way", you can see any chips in a lens from being dropped or otherwise abused.
