Would this look dumb on a 10mm conversion 1911?

If I converted a Springfield .40 loaded model to a 10mm would this look kind of funny?
It says .40 S&W engraved on the side of the frame.
I guess I can't really do anything about this can I.

You can't do much about the roll marks on the slide, but the barrel should be marked "10mm" to help limit the likelyhood of 40S&W ammo being fired in the 10mm barrel. I have heard of people firing 40 in 10 barrels, but I think accuracy really suffers.

While we're on the subject.....

Does a .40 S&W conversion to 10 mm involve a new barrel, mag, and spring? Does it involve anything else? I would love to get a 1911 .40/10mm. (green with envy)

Converting a 40 to 10mm generally requires a new barrel, heavier recoil spring and sometimes a new magazine.

I would suppose that you could get a gunsmith or someone who does gun engraving work to take the .40S&W off and put 10MM on there, although I don't really know, seeing as I've never had anything like that done. I remember looking at some website about a gunsmith who did engraving, though, and it seemed like he'd be able to fix your problem. Unfortunately, I don't remember the site, though.
