Hey long shot,
I'm afraid what I can tell you might not be relevant, but I'll tell you anyway and let you decide.
I have a Beretta Elite II, but it is the 92G. There will be some difference in recoil between the two, but overall it could give you a good idea.
To tell you the truth, I was a little disappointed with mine the first time I took it to the range. I took it with several of my other handguns and fired it after I had shot some of my favorites. I shot the Beretta with lackluster results (no malfunctions of any kind mind you, but just not great accuracy). I've since discovered that it was all me and not the guns fault. I think my mistake was in shooting it with other guns that I am really familiar with. Subsequent range trips have proven it to be very accurate (much more accurate than the operator).
Things I really like about it:
Everything
I love the Novak sights
I love how it looks
It has a great trigger compared to the basic 92 series
Love the "checkering" on the front and backstrap
Love the G configuration
Love the
extended slide release
Love the heavy slide
The only nitpicks I have heard, some don't like the sights (feel they are too small and thin), kind of hard to find good fitting holsters (I wouldn't know as I haven't looked for one yet).
I paid a rediculously low price for mine. I put it on layaway for $710 out the door. I went back in to look around at the shop and saw they were having a sale on all Berettas. I ended up getting the sale price which ended up being $595 out the door. I think the $710 is a little more realistic, although I haven't seen any around lately.
They are great guns.

By the way, as far as reliability, I've never had a malfunction with it. The only problem I've had in that regard was operator error. I found I was resting my thumb on the extended slide release while shooting. After having the slide not lock back on a few magazines I corrected that little problem. When they say it has an extedned release, they mean extended.
