I've seen a couple threads about emergency kits, but they seem to focus around a certain type of emergency (like hurricaine). My question is, in the event of a worst case scenario apocolypse where there is nothing left but people trying to survive... what all should be in an emergency kit?
I'm trying to come up with something that would basically have me and my family covered in pretty much ANY emergency whether it be a hurricaine or post apocolyptic world.
Obviously there's the basics: first aid, clothing, water purification tablets, canned foods, maps, compass, important documents, a reliable self defense gun, ammunition, rifle/shotgun, good knife, knife sharpener...
I could go on and on.... but does anyone have some suggestions of what to add that maybe i'm completely overlooking?
Once I get a good list compiled i'll add it to the thread at the end. Thanks!
