The worse mass murder in the US, if you exclude WACO at the hands of the US Government, was done with a gallon of gasoline in NY city. An after hours dance club was torched by a disgruntled patron who had been tossed out. There were 80+ victims then. I don't remember any outcry to limit the purchase of gasoline or outlaw it's purchase. Nobody blamed the availability of gasoline for the crime, no one said society was responsible for the crime. Music, video games, movies, television firearms, parents or other things were not said to be responsible. Just the guy that torched the place.

It was the OKCity bombing and next was Waco.
But of course, you and I don't get to name the incidents.
OK was political, so the authorities call it terrorism.

Waco was a "hostage rescue" ;) and of course our governement never murders

that is along the same lines as the argument that John Ross made in front of the MO state Legislature when they were planning on making gun owners who purchased from FFLs responsible for crimes comitted with stolen or sold guns.

He made the claim that many more people could be killed with, as one example, Gasoline. Therefore, any can of gas in a shed could be a serious liability to anyone. So could cars, or any other item that might eventually be used to harm someone or commit a crime.
 
The death toll in the NYC after hours dance club was higher than at OKC. Just that in OKC it was a Federal Building that got blown up.
