Elmer Keith mentions checking a variety of shotguns as an ordnance employee during WWII and sending them to Europe.Stevens, and Winchester pumps seemed to be common ones, and Browning A-5s and the Remington 11, their clone. Most were used for guard duty,prisoner escorts, etc, rather than used in line units.
The Pacific theater saw more use of shotguns in the jungle,for obvious reasons.
