I've been working alot of ot recently and decided to put a deposit on 2 pistols...A brand new Two-Tone 220 with Siglites & a "LNIB" HK USP 40 Compact in Stainless...I've never shot a 220 but from what I hear from you guys & so many other people, they are all that & more...They had to order the 220 & it should be here in a couple of days...I'll definitely pick the 220 up first...They said the guy who owned the HK only put 1 box of ammo thru it...They were asking $579.00 for it...I guess that isnt too bad of a deal considering a new one at my local shop sells for $720 and HK just had another price increase...What do you guys think...ok choices ??

Great guns, vyper.

You can't go far wrong with those pieces. I'm partial to the SIG (best DA 45 ACP around, yer darn tootin'), but the HK USP's are fine guns. I think you just bought yourself some good ol' "pride of ownership". Have fun!

Can't say about the sig, though I've never met anyone who didn't like them. As for the USP 40 Compact it is by far my favorite gun I own. And that is really saying alot.

BTW IMHO Night sights and extended floorplates are worth the guns weight in gold!

I'm personally not fond of the USP, as they don't feel right in my hands and the magazine release hits the tip of my trigger finger during recoil.

They have a very good track record, though, and a lot of happy owners.

The Sig 220? I don't care for the two-tone look, but if I were to be getting another .45 ACP right now, the Sig would be the only gun on my list. I have a 1911, I have a 1917 revolver, but I would really like a 220.

You've made two REALLY good choices.

Thanks guys...

Mike,
I went with the Two-Tone finish because I think the nickel holds up better against wear & tear plus it seems a little easier to clean...

I think you've done well in your selections. I'm a Glock guy myself, but wouldn't hesititate to own either of those two firearms.

I bought a black H&K .40 compact a few years back.. sent it to Accurate Plating and had the slide and small parts hardchromed and added nightsites...It is one of my favorites.

Two great choices. I qualified for my first CHL with a SIG 220-I no longer own it, but would like to get another. I now carry a H&K .40C, and enjoy shooting this pistol almost as much as my 1911. It's a great concealed carry piece-very reliable, fits my hands perfectly, and great balance. I added an Ashley Big Dot tritium front sight to complete the package. geegee

Two outstanding choices, congratulations.

Personally I think you got that HK for a great price if the dealer is reputable... Should make for an EXCELLENT ccw/HD combo.

Great choices. I've never owned a 220, but its reputation speaks for itself. I have kicked myself a thousand times for selling my USP .40 Compact. I sent it to HK to have a spurred hammer installed so I could carry it cocked-and-locked. Something to think about, maybe.
