I've noticed something. On the NRA page and in the mags I've noticed that they put in, "with a licensed handgun" on some stories. I started to wonder if they would even print a story of self defense if the handgun owner didn't have a permit to carry concealed. I think they should word it this way, "with a handgun which is legal to be carried anywhere in the U.S. due to the Bill of Rights". You hear (or read) all the anti-gun stories when it involves a gun that the owner didn't have a government permit to carry concealed. And, they always have the last quote "if the gunman (always gunman), referring to the citizen, not the criminal, wouldn't have pulled an unlicensed gun, the criminal wouldn't have fired (or used) his own weapon" or words to that effect.

I've noticed that many people, including gunowners, are using the phases coined by the anti's. "Assult weapons", "Pocket Pistols or Saturday Night Specials", "Automatics" when referring to a SEMI-Automatic pistol or rifle, and last "reasonable gun control". My SKS is not an "assult rifle", I refer to it as my SKS. My AB10 (tec9 before name change) IS a piece of sh!t but it's not an "assult pistol". My Tomcat and NAA .22 mag are not a pocket rocket or a SNS, they are backup or primaries when a full size cannot be used/carried. I've got only one "pocket rocket" and that goes to the one who reaches into my pocket to feel my "rocket", sort of speak. Unknowingly (or maybe willingly) we are being "brain washed" by the boob tube and the anti's. Even at the indoor range, I hear people, gunowners, say things like, "that's a great assult pistol" or "is that an automatic Glock?" (Glocks seem to always be automatic :) ). The best so far was, "You have a laser on that, does it shoot like the phasers(sp?) on Star Track?" I almost dropped my gun on that one.

I've noticed this as well and I'm glad you posted this. This is why the amount of television watched by my children is limited to almost zero. I don't own a TV. This is just an example of the rotting of the mind in America. Who says the liberals, violence, poor gun handeling, perverse sex on TV does not effect us. Why do companies advertise on the TV? OK, OK, OK, I'll get off my soapbox.

I'm with you USP. Not only are the Sheeple getting tricked into using "common sense" language about firearms, but sadly we in the gun culture are as well. I refer to my bayonet lug as a kid sticker. And any black gun of mine, I refer to as a weapon of choice for drug dealers and gangsters.

I'm just waiting for someone to use a gun to save themselves from a raper/murderer, and use a gun without a license. As if that would make the act of self preservation morally wrong.
