On the event of my 5,000th post,,,
I want to write something extremely profound.

Words are failing me,,,
I'll just fall back on some quotations.

Here goes:

Pain heals,,,
Chicks dig scars,,,
Glory, lasts forever!

No wait,,,
That was about football,,,

Lemme see here now,,,

What is best in life?
To crush your enemies,,,
See them driven before you,,,
And to hear the lamentation of their women.

Hhmmm,,,
Too Hollywood,,,
I can do better than that,,,

…you've got to ask yourself one question:
Do I feel lucky?
Well, do ya, punk?

Dang, that’s even more Hollywood,,,
How’s this one?

When my time comes, just skin me and put me up there on Trigger,
just as though nothing had ever changed.

Too sad,,,
Oh, I know!

Whatever doesn’t kill us makes us stronger,,,
But it still leaves scars.

Way too sarcastic,,,
I’ll try one more time.

Women and cats will do as they please,,,
Men and dogs should just relax and get used to it.

True, but not all encompassing,,,
But wait, this might be just the one.

“Most of what I really need to know about how to live
And what to do and how to be, I learned in kindergarten.”

“Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain,
But there in the sand-pile at Sunday school.”

“These are the things I learned”:

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life -
Learn some and think some
And draw and paint and sing and dance
And play and work everyday some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world,
Watch out for traffic,
Hold hands and stick together.
Be aware of wonder.

Yeppers,,,
That says it all.

To keep it firearms related though,,,
If every person lived his or her life by those principles,,,
I would feel no need at all to carry a 9mm CZ-75B in my briefcase.

Would you?

I think a little pepper spray for the occasional angry K-9 would be sufficient,,,
Don't you?

But you're still rated as a "Senior Member" It'd be kinda cool if we had something to look forward to (or did you secretly receive a free Dr Pepper and a pre-HH S&W N frame?):p

Truer words were never spoken.
I live with one woman, her 6 cats and MY two dogs.
It’s taken me 8 years to get used to it but I ether do or sleep in the garage.
Congrats, now I have 3000+ and feel like a kid, some day I hope to get as many.
Live long and prosper.

Congrats Aarond

10. Practicing the Golden Rule becomes easier with age
11. True collaboration and cooperation is more difficult to do than I thought and more rewarding when it happens
12. Be careful who you tick off or don’t get along with….you’ll be working for ‘em tomorrow

37. Chance really does favor the prepared mind
38. How easily and seamlessly new generations integrate into the work force

Short timer... :)

And... posted in the wrong forum. But I'll be a nice guy this time around and move it to General Discussion...

But I've got my eye on you... :p

Check Mike Irwin's join date,,,

In two more days he'll have been an active member of TFL for 12 years.

Makes my measly little post count seem small in comparison.

Happy Early Birthday Mr. Irwin.

Happy posting.

Here is a favorite of mine:

Never point something at someone that, if taken from you by someone larger and stronger than you, would be uncomfortable if turned sideways and shoved up your rear.

Hello geetarman,,,

I chuckle at your profundity,,, :D

Never point something at someone that, if taken from you by someone larger and stronger than you, would be uncomfortable if turned sideways and shoved up your rear.

Back in the late 60's when I was just a wee teenager,,,
I used to carry this monster handgun in my jacket pocket.

The front sight had fallen off somewhere never to be found,,,
When My Pop caught me carrying it one day he noticed the sight was gone,,,
I lied and told him I had taken it off on purpose so it would clear my pocket faster.

His reply was something on the order of:

Good idea son,,
When you pull it on someone,,,
And they take it and shove it up your @$$,,,
It probably won't hurt nearly as bad coming back out.
