wood-grain witness protection style pistol grips?

Such as on "D-fens"' gun from Falling Down and others. At first I thought those were simply sawed off stocks, but they look a little too clean. Did anyone EVER mass produce these; do they still? I kind of want to do a little project with one of my Wingmasters.

I think they are sawed off, they are just sanded and refinished also.

I am no woodworker or stock refinisher by any stretch of the imagination. Anybody know of any custom stock makers that could do this? Would probably be simple for anyone worth their salt at it.

speed fed makes a polymer grip like what you want if you don't have to have wood.

I was considering the polymer one, but the gun I'm doing will have a shortened wood forend...so I want to do something with a wood pistol grip. I may very well have to have it done custom.
