Wood furniture on a Firestar?

I was perusing eBay this morning and ran across a set of wood grips for an M40 Firestar. I was under the impression that they did not make any for that model pistol. Anyone know if Star actually made them, or could these be an after-market grip?

Nice! I had a Firestar in 9mm way back and I always liked that gun. Other than the weight, it was a great, accurate, dependable gun.

Thank you Lee, those are the ones... so the answer is aftermarket.

This is the link to the auction but it looks like the guy had 3 and 3 of the dozen or more people that were watching the auction must've pulled the trigger because the auction is ended and none are available. His price was $30 over what the actual manufacturers price was, but looks like the manufacturer is out of them anyway so go figure.

Sharp looking wood grips though.

I have purchased many grips from grips 4 u and always received excellent quality merchandise. E mail them and i believe they will notify you when the grip is in stock.

Hey, when I told you to check out mazdaman's feedback, it was a kind of warning.

It turns out that the seller on eBay, mazdaman, is the proprietor of Grips4U, the link that lee n. field shared in his post.
I put a call into the fella and asked when and or if he may be planning another run of those grips which his site currently shows as unavailable. I'll share what ever response I receive from him.

Guess that sheds a different light on my saying, "His price was $30 over what the actual manufacturer's price was". I also guess that means the manufacturer is really out of them now huh? :p

two negative reviews in the past year?
Looks like it lee, but that is two out of 2021 sales in the past year, that is less than 1/10th of 1%.
If Grips4U responds to my voicemail and says that they will in fact be making more, I'm probably not going to hesitate to pick up a set or two depending on the price. I've always wished that someone somewhere made wood stocks for the Firestar, kind of glad to learn that someone did and hopefully does still.
Though I do appreciate the heads up gyvel.

I did get a response.

Apparently the company more or less halted their 'custom' grip operation back in February of 2014 and have focused on their 'production' since.

He stated:
"We'll be running more of these within 1-2 weeks, as they've proven to be very popular already."

I did not broach the subject of what venue, (their site or eBay), they would be sold in or what price tag they would carry in light of the difference noted.

Mr. Smith has more of these listed on eBay, but also shows them now as available on his site Grips4U at $30 less than the eBay asking price, in case anyone else is interested as I am.

As an aside, if it goes on the M40, it'll usually fit the M43 as well ;)
same frame...same mags...some say same slide as well.
I look forward to finding out for sure...as I'm trying to find a nice Starvel M40
for my collection, already have the 43 & 45 :D
