LOL, i'm excited about winning it, its worth more than the first Mustang I bought and probably worth more than my other 5 shotguns combined! I always wanted a higher end O/U so I might just keep it and shoot the 20 or trade it in and get a 12 just like it. I don't see too many of them around so its kinda nice having something different also...

I like a 20ga / but if you don't want it, you should trade it in on something else you like. I don't think its a bad gun / but its not my first choice either.

If you know what dimensions on a gun you need - length of pull, drop at comb, drop at heel - or a parallel comb gun ..... then we could give you more guidance on what you should look at as a trade in.

My personal preference is toward Browning in O/U's - and one of the guns I think has the most adjustability, in terms of fitting more shooters, is a gun with a parallel adjustable comb - like the Browning XS Special or the Browning XS Skeet - both available in 12 or 20ga ( list price is around $ 3 K ).
 
Keep it-- that one is a beut-- and 20 Ga is nothing to sneeze at-- unless you can get a 28 or .410 out of it, I would keep it..IMHO
 
Check prices on 20 gauge guns vs 12 gauge guns on the used rack. The 20 gauge is 20% higher. Actually, I prefer a 20 gauge for my use.
 
Keep it - 20 will do 95% of what a 12 will do on the range and is suitable for most of what you'd probably hunt with that gun anyhow - in a word... UPLAND :)

You could hunt ducks with it too - but I hate to envision a CG dropped in a pond someplace....

All shotguns model "Summit Sporting," manufactured by Caesar Guerini in Brescia, Italy are restricted from use at any shooting event conducted by the Quantico Shooting Club. We hope that this is a temporary restriction, pending independent and expert testing of a shotgun mishap. All Range Safety Officers are to verify that shooters are not using this firearm until the restriction is lifted.

An investigation into the shotgun mishap performed by the Range Safety Officers of the Quantico Shooting Club and headed up by Chief Range Safety Officer R.A. Fisher has been completed and the report is now available for download. Click the link below to see the Report entitled "Mishap Report: Chief Range Safety Officer's Investigation and Report."

This Report is a preliminary report pending engineering and/or laboratory tests. The Chief Range Safety Officer's Investigation and Report was not reviewed before publication by any laboratory specializing in the examination and testing of guns or any organization or individual unaffiliated with the Quantico Shooting Club. Although the Caesar Guerini Summit Sporting shotgun referenced in the Report was examined by Mr. Robert Mayer, one of the QSC Safety Officers who assisted in the investigation and in the preparation of the Report, who also has a mechanical engineering degree, the shotgun has not yet been subject to any mechanical engineering, metallurgic, or materials science testing to assess the cause of the incident.

Caesar Guerini, U.S.A., LLC disputes the contents of the Chief Range Safety Officer's Investigation and Report and has sued the Quantico Shooting Club regarding the Report. This litigation is pending.

OK, you guys are a bad influence :) I'm keeping it lol. It'll just be a clay bird gun for me, if I hunt ducks with anything it'll be my 870, I can afford to beat it around.

As the owner of the CG pictured earlier, I've followed the QSC episode on a number of boards. First, it's a private club that rents from Quantico, so the USMC didn't write the report. Second, the report was written by amateur shooters who appeared to be mostly covering their rearends to their USMC landlord.

And more to the point, the guy who reloaded the ammo in question had owned the reloader for 40 days.

As I've posted before, they wrote the report and then modified it and still don't have any lab evidence, just their opinion.

Guerini posted a detailed rebuttal.

The 20 is also great for upland game: doves, quail, etc.
 
You are better off keeping the gun unless you do a private sale. If you trade it at a gun shop they will give you 50 to 60% of the value and honestly to sell privately you would have to mark it down 20% or more to spark any interest. You will not get what a dealer would charge.

Keep it, shoot, it then pass it down to a family member.
