Wolf has changed their 9x18 round....

Just received my order of Wolf 9x18 Mak ammo. To my amazement, they have changed this round some. To start with, it has a 100% copper jacket, the cases are now lacquer coated (like their 9x19, 7.62x39, etc.), and it kind of has a 'truncated' design. Wolf's old 9x18 round used to look just like the 'green box' LVE stuff (except it had a 109 gr. bullet.) I have included a pic. of this 'new' design (bottom right) along with the LVE (top left.)

That looks a lot like the truncated cone 'hi impulse' load that the Russians developed for better penetration our of the Makarovs. Soldier of Fortune did a article about this and some of the other new loads/rounds that the Soviets were playing with a couple of years ago. IIRC, it was an 85grn at 1150fps. Does the box make any reference to the bullet weight???

Get that new stuff over a chronograph and lets see what it does!!!!
