wolf brass ?

Excellent brass for basic recreational ammo. I'm on my 4th reloading and no scraps yet. You will have to chamfer the primer pockets as I "think" wolf swages the primers. Once you add a very slight chamfer the wolf casings can be primed easily.

The "wolf gold" was made by PPU under contract IIRC.

Odds are pretty decent that this stuff is either PPU or S&B with a wolf headstamp. As such it won't be Norma or Lapua, but for the price it seems like a decent deal. 1000 primers is around 25 to 35 bucks, that leaves the price of the brass right at 100 bucks, or 10 cents a piece.

S&B primer pockets in their 45 acp are a bear to seat new primers. Would that be the case with these ?
I just called them and asked and was told they do not know who made the brass but it is wolf head stamped. Also said it is boxer primed but didn't know if it is crimped or not.
I think I will pass on this.

Priming Wolf brass with no chamfer is a "maybe". IME most of the casings can not be primed without major force which usually leads to a deformed primer. I've learned that Wolf and LC all benifit from a slight chamfer to help get the primer started. FC, R-P , and PMC brass primes much easier and no need to chamfer.

I don't know who makes the brass for Wolf Gold, but the consensus seems to be split between PPU and S&B.

My opinions of the two:
PPU is good to great. In some cartridges, it rivals Lapua brass in my testing. Even if not Lapua-quality, it's at least as good as the common domestic brands.

S&B rifle brass sucks. No exceptions. Nothing good to say. I don't like S&B rifle brass.

If I needed brass I would be all over that. At most you would need to ream the primer pockets. If I did not have my current supply of brass I would order that.
